Cassie started her career in sustainable business by trying to answer the question of why University of Illinois U-C’s main street, Green Street, wasn’t very “green”. Through her undergraduate degree in environmental science from the U of I College of ACES, she, along with two friends, saw an opportunity to make a difference in one aspect of the triple bottom line — profit. From this, the Illinois Green Business Association was formed, where Cassie is Executive Director. As Executive Director, she is responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, outreach, partnership development and staff oversight. Cassie is a proud Champaign West Rotarian and volunteers with many statewide and local organizations. She is also engaged in the Green Business Engagement National Network, bringing national expertise to Illinois.
