Katie Lewis is the Executive Director of the Burger King Foundation, leading transformative initiatives that align with the Foundation’s mission to empower individuals through education and community support. Under her leadership, the Foundation has achieved remarkable milestones, including raising a record-breaking $9.1 million in 2024 to fund scholarships and innovative programs like the “Crown a Classroom” initiative, which provides essential school supplies to over 100,000 students.
Katie is a visionary leader known for reinvigorating the Foundation through strategic innovation, engaging franchisees, and introducing signature events like the “Royal Bash,” which has raised over $340,000 since its inception. Recognized for her dedication, Katie was honored with the Blackbaud Impact Award for Outstanding Leadership in 2024.
Prior to joining Burger King Foundation in 2022, she was the Assistant Vice President, Tocqueville & Major Gifts at United Way of Miami-Dade where she helped cultivate, steward and close major gifts and endowment gifts, worked closely with the board, donors and community partners and strategized and planned fundraising initiatives. Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively involved in community organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and United Way Miami, where her passion for education and mentorship continues to inspire.
Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Miami and an MBA from Florida International University.
