About
A self-described “climate adaptation scientist,” Antioch University New England’s Michael Simpson investigates the vulnerabilities to the changing climate, from the built environment to the natural systems on which society is dependent. Recent weather events across the U.S. have sparked an ever-increasing fear that climate change (and its associated effects) is here to stay.
“It’s hard to deny that we have been breaking a number of historical weather records for extreme events across the nation,” Simpson says. “We can say with 95% confidence that this trend is going to continue. We need to take that into account as we plan and adapt to these changes.”
