Barbara Bouza is Co-Managing Director for Gensler’s LEED Platinum, Los Angeles office and is a Firmwide Health & Wellness and Life Sciences Global Practice Area Leader. Gensler is an architectural, interior design, planning and strategy consulting firm with over 5,000 professionals in 46 locations throughout Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas. Barbara has driven the integration of health and wellness project strategies to influence office buildings, hotels, airports, education campuses, senior living and hospitals. Some of her clients include City of Hope, Cedars-Sinai, Amgen, NASA, California State University and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Barbara’s passion for elevating sustainability for human wellbeing goes well beyond projects. She is involved with many non-profit organization including ImagineLA, Girls Inc. and Dress for Success. Barbara is a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Organization of Minority Architects, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and the Women Presidents’ Organization. She was honored by The Los Angeles Business Journal as the “2014 Executive of the Year: Women Making a Difference” and was invited to speak on the topic of “Managing the Firm: A Woman’s Perspective” at the AIA/LA POWERFUL Women Leading Design symposium. Real Estate Forum magazine recognized Barbara this year as a Woman of Influence: California. Her work has been published in Architectural Record, Architectural Review and Domus.
