About

When Joey McColm isn’t racing tire to tire on hot asphalt, he is working hard as General Manager of Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT), one of Green Sports Alliance’s newest members. Joey’s passion for environmental sustainability began when he was studying Civil Engineering at Ryerson University, while at the same time pursuing a career in racing. He wanted to combine his two passions and realized that in order to create change in the racing industry he needed to become a champion from within. Joey currently races in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and Trans Am Series, where he is known as the most personable and accessible driver to fans. Over the years, he has worked with a number of organizations to promote sustainability, including: Earth Day Canada, Earth Rangers and Plug N’ Drive. He also facilitated a school-based program called Eco-Driving, focused on educating students about alternate forms of transportation and eco-friendly vehicles. Recognizing that without fans, there wouldn’t be racing, Canada’s Best Racing Team works hard to foster its relationship with its growing fan base. By strategically engaging with fans at races, through social media and other communication platforms, CBRT is able to successfully share its messages about important world issues, including environmental sustainability. CBRT’s focus is to encourage individuals to engage, participate and share its experiences with the goal of empowering them to create positive change.
