Founder & CEO of Ecohabitude Inc., Kristen is a part native Hawaiian social entrepreneur who grew up on the Island of Oahu.
She attended college in San Francisco at the Academy of Art, where she majored in Fashion Merchandising. She later went on to further her studies in Native Hawaiian Arts & Culture at the University of Hawaii under the direction of esteemed artist Kapulani Landgraf and Kaili Chun.
Kristen’s passion lies in identifying & developing business opportunities; she oversees the build out of platforms and business models that innovate solutions to societal needs.
She loves early stage startups and re-imagining innovative solutions with ethical ideas to engage widespread support and be a catalyst for change.
Prior to founding Ecohabitude.com, Kristen came to New York to work as a buyer for Lux & Eco, an e-commerce company that offers luxury green brands. Here she worked alongside the founder to redesign its website & launch a new business model.
In 2009, she co-founded Dawson Media Hawaii with the Founder of Dawson Technical LLC, a luxury polo & lifestyle print and online publication and created a fundraising platform collaboration between the AUSA (an advocacy group for the United States Army) and USPA (the United States Polo Association). She was also the fundraising committee chair for the Hawaii Theatre for two consecutive years.
When not overseeing the day-to-day operations of her company, Kristen likes to travel, hang out with her dogs, play tennis and dream up new ways that technology can make her life more efficient.
