About
The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) is a proud organization whose members have been recycling ferrous and nonferrous metals in the U.S. for more than 100 years. Eric Harris, ISRI’s Associate Counsel and Director of Government Affairs, has been with the organization for the better part of a decade, and has seen the marketplace trend over the last 10 years toward tremendous growth in the electronics recycling segment.
“We’re seeing a market (electronics recycling) that is heading in the right direction,” Harris says. “We are seeing jobs created in almost every state across the country, we’re processing higher volumes and getting greater return on the backend and returning good, fully functioning equipment back into the domestic market. We’ve really come a long way.”
