About

Wendy lives with her husband, John, and their four children in Yorktown, Virginia. John and Wendy met in college and have been happily married for 27 years. Their children are 21, 19, 17 and 14 years old… they keep them busy! Wendy worked in corporate America in the legal and financial planning fields before having her first child and choosing to be a “stay-at-home” mom. After 13 years, she “stumbled” into direct sales in 2006 when she joined a company whose products she had enjoyed using. After five years she resigned from that company and joined NYR Organic. In her three years with NYR, Wendy has promoted to the title of Regional Leader and currently leads an organization of over 1,000 consultants all over the U.S. She has come to LOVE the direct sales industry and is truly blessed to help in changing people’s lives through NYR’s certified organic product lines and business opportunity. How did you first get involved in the green industry? I became involved in the green industry through NYR Organic… the more I learned about ingredients in personal care products, the more I became concerned about what I was using for myself and my family. I love that Neal’s Yard Remedies is such an ethical, sustainable brand. What interests you most about being green? My long-term health. I think as Americans, we have to understand that our government is not going to ban ingredients that are harmful to us — so we must educate ourselves and others and be our own health advocates. What is your biggest “green” pet peeve? Greenwashing. I am astounded at how many products on store shelves say “green” and “natural” and even “organic” on their labels… yet they are filled with toxic, cancer-causing ingredients! This is a travesty, and it saddens me for consumers who are really TRYING to make good decisions and are trusting in the market advertising. What green trend is most exciting to you or your industry? Most exciting to me is that people are starting to question ingredients and do their research, which often leads them right to NYR Organic!
