About
Sara is currently a senior majoring in Environmental Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Penn Varsity Gymnastics Team. Her passion for sustainability has led to many experiences over the past few years, including several roles in which she helps to improve the sustainability of Penn’s campus. As a Sustainability Intern for Penn’s Green Campus Partnership, Sara has been the student coordinator of the Penn Eco-Reps program for the past two-and-a-half years, helping to run student environmental leadership programs in athletics, college houses, and Greek life. The Athletics Eco-Reps program was started in 2012 and has harnessed student leadership to advance sustainability in the collegiate athletics program. In this program, Sara has focused on the Zero Waste Palestra initiative and has spearheaded the greening of Penn Relays. In addition, Sara has interned in sustainability for Genentech and Sustainable Brands and is the Co-Founder and Director of SPARC, the Sustainable Philadelphia Alliance of Regional Campuses. Sara is from the concrete jungle of NYC but loves to spend time outdoors hiking and running.
