Rick Doyle joined the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) as its first full-time chief staff executive in November 2006. Based in Atlanta, the Synthetic Turf Council was founded in 2003, and celebrated its 10th Anniversary at its Annual Membership Meeting in Orlando on October 7-9. To help commemorate 10 years of accomplishment, advocacy and service to the North American synthetic turf industry, the STC launched a new brand identity, including a new logo and website, www.syntheticturfcouncil.org. The website receives thousands of visits each week, and valuable information and guidance about synthetic turf. Recent new STC publications and updates include Suggested Guidelines for the Essential Elements of Synthetic Turf Systems*; Guidelines for Maintenance of lnfilled Synthetic Turf Sports Fields*; Glossary of Terms for Synthetic Turf*; Guidelines for Synthetic Turf Performance*; Removal, Recovery, Reuse, & Recycling of Synthetic Turf and Its System Components; STC Guidance: Exercising Safely in the Heat on Synthetic Turf; STC Guidelines: Considerations When Buying Synthetic Grass for Landscape Use; Attracting Funding & Local Support for Synthetic Turf Fields; and two marketing brochures on the benefits of synthetic turf for sports fields and synthetic grass for landscape & recreation use.
