Function and specialization

Rob Fisher is KPMG’s US ESG leader and global Advisory ESG lead. He is responsible for building holistic solutions that pave a clear path to purpose-led, sustainable business to build resilience and drive profitable and measurable growth. These services and capabilities focus on key ESG themes, such as ESG strategy, climate change and decarbonization, ESG measurement and reporting, and sustainable supply chains, supported by a wide range of data-driven solutions, technology tools and deep industry experience to navigate and simplify the complexities of every stage of our clients’ ESG journey. Rob also serves as KPMG’s global leader for ESG transformation and reporting services.

Previously, Rob served in various leadership roles including the US Risk Assurance practice leader, and Chief Operating Officer of the US Risk Consulting practice.

Rob has more than 25 years of diverse strategy, operations, information systems, risk and control, regulatory and consumer protection experience, including:

  • As KPMG’s US ESG leader, coordinate the Firm’s cross-functional efforts to provide deep ESG insight and capabilities to assist our clients across a wide range of challenges, including ESG strategy, climate / decarbonization, social and economic development, sustainable finance, and measurement, reporting and assurance.
  • Develop and lead KPMG’s Trusted global strategic priority helping our clients to manage risk and regulation, including consideration of ESG, to build trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging across customers, employees, investors, regulators, and the communities they operate in.
  • Served as external Senior Advisor for one of the world’s largest technology companies as part of its Risk and Compliance Technology Council
  • Served as engagement partner for multiple, large scale remediation reviews in conjunction with consent orders received by various Top 10 US financial institutions from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Subject matter of this work included fair lending; unfair, deceptive and abusive acts and practices (UDAAP); and servicemembers’ civil relief act (SCRA).
  • In previous leadership roles, designed and executed strategic growth initiatives and led all aspects of the practice including driving our people and innovation agendas, senior talent management, and day-to-day responsibility for overseeing operations and delivering expected financial results.
